Papertrey Ink February 2018 Blog Hop Challenge

Super cute inspiration for this month's customer blog hop, over at Papertrey Ink.

So many things to love; the colours come to mind first but all the Easter goodies (bunnies and eggs) are a close second. I made two projects and both happened to also be influenced by Laurie Schmidlin's Make It Monday framing technique :) ...

So much fun! Lots of beautiful PTI cardstock used on both of these cards! The only Easter set I own is Papertrey's Hippity Hoppity, but I do love it so. Thanks for looking.

Framing Images & Sentiments

Joining in with Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge this week, hosted by Laurie Schmidlin, framing sentiments  and images. That woman really does make the most beautiful cards - she's so inspiring and I love the tips she shared this week. Here's what I made ...

I used lots of Papertrey Ink's luxe cardstock in some super delicious colours as well as one of the Swoosh dies. Thanks for looking!

PTI 11th Anniversary Day 5: Retiring Stamp Sets

Today was the day during the annual anniversary celebrations that Papertrey Ink announced which stamp sets would be retiring in May. There are lots of incredible sets on that list, including some that are my very favourite PTI stamps.

For today's challenge, they've asked us to make a card with stamps from the retirement list. I chose to work with a very simple $5 set, Enclosed: Bell, which happens to be one of my preferred Christmas sentiment sets. I made two super simple and quick projects with it. First a card ...

Yes, that gorgeous sentiment (and others) plus that ideal sprig of holly is on that $5 stamp set! Buy it now, thank me later! I also used a Concord & 9th set, Tree Ring Background, to add a soft setting for my sentiment. I cut my panel with one of the PTI Tipped Top dies and added it to a white card base.

Next a super fast wine tag. I have a thing about loving wine tags in green. Don't know why, but I always think they look good hanging on a bottle of either white or red wine ...

I used some lovely Mint Julep cardstock for this one to add to the vintage/retro vibe of that red "Joy". I grounded the sentiment with a light stamping of PTI's Text Style II.

PTI 11th Anniversary Day 4: Floral Challenge

For the 4th day of Papertrey Ink's anniversary celebrations, we were challenged to make a floral project. Wink, wink, hardest challenge ever.

I was really smitten with all the stunning designer projects that were featured today, showcasing the gorgeous new anniversary stamp set for this year, Mixed Bouquet. I have to say that my card was definitely influenced by this awesome number from Kimberly Crawford. I love her simple clean graphic perfection. (I've been sadly and badly in need of inspiration because I'm currently dealing with my second bout of flu in less than a month.)

Here is what I made, using the PTI anniversary set from 2016, Painted Petals, and a sentiment from Brushed Blooms ...

PTI 11th Anniversary Day 3: Transformation Tuesday

Hey everybody, today the team over at Papertrey Ink  told us about some cool new features that they're introducing for the coming year, including Transformation Tuesday, where the DT takes a previous project that they may not be crazy about and they change it into something fabulous! So simple for them. There is also a new once-a-month feature called Simple to Spectacular.

I have many projects that could use a redo, but in the end this is the one I decided on. I started with this card, that I had made for last year's anniversary celebrations which I never liked enough to use for the contest ...

It looks way less wimpy and tired to me now ...

Hope you're all having fun with the anniversary events. Can't wait for product reveals!

PTI 11th Anniversary Day 1: Sketch Challenge

Happy new year, everyone. it's been a while! I am so happy that anniversary celebrations have started (finally) over at the Papetrey Ink blog! This morning they announced the new design team and I'm relieved that most of my favourites will be back (so sad to see Wanda Guess go) and that a couple of amazing people have been added. Looking forward to being inspired each month.

Today's challenge is a sketch one, and I chose to follow Melissa Phillips' design. In fact, I may have followed (copied) too closely, but I really want to participate every day and have told myself that I can't get too bogged down in overcomplicating everything. Same thing with photos - simple they will be!

I meant to make my card long and narrow like Melissa did, but my embossed woodgrain panel looked really wonky as a card base so I popped it onto a white folded card.
