Papertrey Ink December 2015 Blog Hop

I cannot believe I'm posting this, but seemingly I have no pride left. I have been having such a hard time making cards here in Forida; I've completely lost any creative mojo that I ever owned and I'm thinking at this point that it's never coming back. Nevertheless, after trying several times over the last few days and coming up with absolutely nothing, I've decided to post this card anyway. It's for the December 2015 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. Nichole provided some awesome inspiration, but I just couldn't get into it ...

Oh my goodness, I was losing sleep over the ugly card that I posted. Couldn't stand it, tried my best to save it by picking it apart and coming up with this. Still absolutely NOT a favourite of mine, but at least I can live with it.

Paper - PTI Stamper's Select White, Pure Black, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse card
Stamps - PTI Fab Flakes, Spruce & Sprigs
Inks - PTI Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse; Versamark
Dies - PTI Fab Flakes, Spruce & Sprigs, Wet Paint
Other - clear sequins; SSS White Detail Embossing Powder

Now that that is over, I also wanted to share my Christmas card for 2015. I ended up only making one design, where I usually do five or six, but I'm okay with that. I got them in the mail, on time, and I'm happy about that.

The inside sentiment/message read "Peace on earth good will to men", which I thought was kind of appropriate given current world affairs.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Mine was so blessed, filled with family and lots of laughter and joy. We created memories that I'll never forget :)

I didn't want to do it

It's been quite the while since I last posted, but I've been busy. We moved to Florida for the winter and I got all caught up in my new life :) I'm loving it here, except the weather has been very very dreary for the last two weeks and there's no big improvement in sight. Pouting. I'm hoping that by the time family arrives for Christmas on the 17th we'll have some sunshine and beach weather for the littles. All I can do is hope.

I did manage to finish making my Christmas cards for this year, only one design though, but I haven't finished addressing the envelopes because, of course, I forgot the labels that I had printed out at home. That's so typical of me, sigh. Once they're mailed, I'll post the card design I chose.

I also managed to make a card for this week's Make It Monday, over at Nichole Heady's Papertrey Ink blog, which is being hosted by Danielle Flanders. Ack! She's showing us how to add paint splatters to our projects. Just look at the gorgeous tags that she made!

After I had put my card together, I really didn't want to do it, oh no, not me. I liked my card just fine the way it was and wasn't anxious to potentially ruin it with splatters! But I did it and I actually like it so much better with the added detail. I practiced a bit on scratch paper and decided I was going bold, using the tap-tap method that Danielle demonstrated :)
