Grateful

I'm playing along with this week's sketch, by Leigh Penner, over at the CASE(E) this Sketch blog ...

I'm feeling in an autumn kind of mood today, it's drizzling outside and, while still warm at 24℃, it'll be dropping down to a high of only 12℃ starting tomorrow and for the rest of the week. I made a super C&S card, though one that has lots of colour for me ...

I don't have any autumn leaf stamps or dies at all! I know a girl can't have everything, but I do plan on remedying this situation as soon as possible :) I used leaves from PTI's Vintage Linens, stamping them with Versamark onto black card die cuts and then embossing with some coloured powders. I ink blended my background, die cut my sentiment from it, and then pieced it back onto my card front.

Supplies:

Paper - PTI True Black and Stamper's Select White card
Stamps - PTI Vintage Linens
Inks - Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint & Black Soot Distress Inks; Versamark
Dies - PTI Wonderful Words, Vintage Linens
Other - American Crafts Red Glitter, Butter & Blush embossing powders

Sentiment in the Spotlight

This week's challenge, over at the Merry Monday Christmas card challenge blog, is to create a project where the sentiment is in the spotlight, like this ...

And, over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, the theme is Die Crazy, which is never a problem for me :)

I combined the two challenges to make this fairly quick card (except the drying time for the Glossy Accents) and it's my kind of project, very clean and simple ...

I used the smooshing technique for my woodgrain embossed panel, smooshing first of course and then dry embossing. I watercoloured my holly leaf die cuts with some Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers and, for all you Stella fans out there, added some clear Wink to them :)

Supplies

Paper - PTI Vintage Cream, Stamper's Select White & Pure Poppy card; Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock; Echo Park patterned paper
Stamps - PTI Wet Paint
Ink - PTI Berry Sorbet (for the smooshing), Smokey Shadow
Dies - PTI Sparkle & Shine, Woodgrain Embossing Plate, Layered Postmarks: Holiday
Other - My Mind's Eye brad; Wink of Stella clear brush marker; Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers; Ranger Glossy Accents

September 2015 Papertrey Ink: Create Along With Us

There was so much inspiration from the Papertrey Ink design team this month, that it's really quite overwhelming. I'm playing along with September's Create Along With Us challenge with this card ...

When I saw this card from Betsy Veldman, I just knew I had to try and recreate a wreath using non-wreath stamps. I made this card that very day but didn't have enough light to photo it until today (we're back to summer after a few cool, rainy days). I first masked off a circle on my card front and did some ink blending with Spring Moss and Hawaiian Shores. I love the minty green that I ended up with! I then stamped around the circle alternating two stamps - one fromTremendous Treats: Christmas and the other from Peace Be Still - using Ripe Avocado ink. A die cut word (from Sparkle & Shine) was fancied up with some Crimson glitter from American Crafts. I finished up the card with a sentiment, stamped in Smokey Shadow, from Peaceful Pinecones.

All supplies from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.

Camouflaged Pocket Inserts

This week's Make It Monday challenge, hosted by Dawn McVey, over at the Papertrey Ink blog, is really kind of fun. Once I got started, I had a hard time stopping and I ended up making three cards.

Dawn made two gorgeous cards; here's just one of them ...

This is the last card card that I made, and my favourite. I did a little bit of rocking and rolling on the apples ...

Here's a pic of the tag out of its pocket ...

Paper: PTI Stamper's Select White, Summer Sunrise, Vintage Cream card; PTI Pure Poppy Polka Dot patterned paper; Stamps: PTI Apple Prints;  Inks: PTI Smokey Shadow, Pure Poppy, New Leaf, Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet; Dies: PTI Apple Prints, Scripted, Library Pocket, Tag Sale #10
I made a second card using leftover bits and pieces from this year's Stamp-A-Faire ...

I dipped half of my heart into white glitter because Heather Nichols was talking about doing this on the PTI Forum this week and I'm a big copycat :) Here is the full tag ...

Paper: PTI Stamper's Select White & Fresh Snow Linen card; Stamps: PTI Beautiful Brushstrokes, Embellished Elegance, Live Love Life; Inks: PTI Smokey Shadow; Delicata Gold; Dies: PTI Embellished Elegance, Tag Sale #6, Monthly Moments Journal Pocket #3; Lifestyle Crafts Hearts; Other: Doodlebug glitter; Dreamweaver Metallic Gold embossing paste; Tim Holtz Woodgrain layering Stencil
I also ended up making a Halloween card ...
